Yoshi's Crafted World: A Charming and Innovative Platformer
Yoshi's Crafted World is the latest addition to the Yoshi franchise and the first game in the series developed for Nintendo Switch. The game features a charming "hand-crafted" visual style that makes it look like Yoshi is made of plush. In this platformer, players control Yoshi in a pseudo-3D environment, side-scrolling forward through several stages that include an African forest, a desert full of dinosaur skulls, a night town, a factory, and a food level.
The game offers an innovative mechanic that allows players to flip the camera around and see the game from the opposite perspective, so that objects wouldn't cover the view. The player can defeat enemies by eating them or throwing them away, and traditional Yoshi enemies like Shy Guys, Koopa Troopas, and Piranha Plants appear in Crafted World. The multiplayer option allows two players to control two Yoshis, making the game even more enjoyable.
